about

In the proud and long-held tradition of the blues, this is a begging song. A begging song is when you know you’ve done wrong, and you’re trying to make right. Unfortunately, if you’re like 99.9% of the men out there, you’re probably going about it the wrong way. The first thing they try is logic. Good luck with that, the first mistake most men make is assuming that they’re rational in the first place! The second mistake, and with little more success, is to appeal to a sense of sentimentality. Ain’t nothin’ cookin’! Finally, (if you live long enough) when all else fails, you fall to your knees and say “baby, I’m so sorry!” If you mean it, just maybe she won’t leave you down there.

lyrics

You were the best thing that ever walked through that door
Now we hurt each other, don't want it anymore
I know dam well you don't give up without a fight
Like you said it, two wrongs don't make a right

Please don't leave me like this tonight
Walk out angry into the night
I was wrong but I don't want to fight
Don't leave me like this tonight

We been down this road too many times
Missed the turnoff hit the detour sign
Never seemed to bother us we love to ride the line
Never gonna let go, I do believe I'm blind

Please don't leave me like this tonight
Walk out angry into the night
I was wrong but I don't want to fight
Don't leave me like this tonight
